Ben Williams, MD
Board-Certified Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon
Ben Williams, MD is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a Subspecialty Certificate in Surgery of the Hand, practicing in Salt Lake City and South Jordan, Utah. Dr. Williams treats a full range of conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder — from carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger to complex fracture care, arthritis, and nerve compression — and also performs shoulder procedures including rotator cuff repair and shoulder replacement. He aims to bring up-to-date, evidence-based care to every patient, individualized to their specific condition and goals.
As a physician, Dr. Williams believes strongly in shared decision-making — taking the time to walk patients through their condition and the range of treatment options so they can make the choice that's right for them. He is also known for his extensive experience in wide-awake local anesthesia (WALANT), having performed more than 2,000 procedures using this technique — allowing many hand and upper extremity surgeries to be done safely in an office-based setting, without the risks, cost, or downtime of general anesthesia.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Williams previously served as Program Director for Medical Interpretation at Primary Children's Medical Center.
Dr. Williams sees new patients at both his Salt Lake City and South Jordan offices, often on a same-day basis. Call (801) 533-2002 to schedule.
